My Job

I have always been a competitive person, ever since I can remember I have always been on a court, a field, or any type of playing area. I started sports at a very young age at 7 I started playing soccer and I played that for eight years until I found the sport which I fell in love with, Basketball. Now i consider Basketball a job, I eat sleep and dream about the sport, my whole day revolves around the game. I have to work out a way to manage school, workout's, eating and practice and OH ya sleep. This is what I worked so hard for in high school though, to become a collegiate athlete, I spent long days and long nights working on my "game" and now that I made it here I still have to continue working on it. There is always room to improve!

14 years 10 months and a crazy amount of days!

14 years 10 months and a crazy amount of days ago I first stepped onto the softball field. At the age of 5 i was forced to join a local softball team with my older sister and I hated it. I had no idea how to throw and was scared of the ball. As time went on and my parents constant nagging to practice and get better eventually after all my hard work I began to love the game. It went from being a horrible experience to a game I love and still play 14 years and 10 months and a crazy amount of days later!

not quite shaun white

I wish I could tell you that I've been kicking a soccer ball, on skiis or in skates since I could walk, and that since then I've become a professional and am training for the olympics, but that would be a lie. I really have no fancy story to dazzle you with. I started playing soccer and basketball in third grade, mostly because my friends did, and it just stuck with me from that point on. Doesn't mean I don't love these sports, it just means you won't see me flying down a half-pipe and landing a tripple upside down merry-go-round back flip on national television like Shaun White. God he's amazing.

starting a sport

By about 2nd grade my parents thought it'd be a good idea to sign me up for a bunch of sports and have me decide which ones I liked: I was in basketball, soccer, and swimming lessons. I tried them all and seemed to enjoy them all, the only thing I can remember is the first soccer game I went to I put my shin guards outside of my socks... everyone laughed, I wasn't so sport savvy at the time.

Ever since we were little it always seemed like no matter what we did, from playing sports to jumping out of trees, we wanted our moms to watch or to encourage us, thus helping us with our title "hey ma, watch this." Our plan is to go back to our "little kid stages" and blog about our interests and non-interests towards sports: what comes to mind and what we research or report. We are all, in some way, athletes and we believe that everyone is an athlete in their own way, so help us by reading our blogs and posting comments!

thank you,

the hey ma, watch this! blog team
